Lost

Just before daybreak while lying abed
A lovely poem was filling my head.
To my computer to write it all down
In its pure glory, each adverb and noun.
Abounding in beauty, a honeyed delight,
It lit up the screen in neat black and white.
A charming sonnet, so sweetly serene,
Not even a typo there to be seen.
The verse 'magnum opus' without a doubt.
I reached for the key to print it all out.
To my dismay the screen went quite bare.
I searched my head, the poem was not there.
I hadn't saved it. How did it delete?
I took to my bed, admitting defeat.
If my muse finds my creation again,
I'll write it this time with safe ink and pen.

I searched my head, the poem was not there.

Some might think this is 'just a poem', but I'm here to attest that sometimes it happens just that way ...
I believe that when one 'disappears' .. there is another inkwell calling it's name~

So ... eventually ... I just say, "Dang it !"~
Cause the 'other stuff' isn't allowed in print !!

Neat write about the one that got away !
