Sweet love, sweet love, where hast thee gone does this temperment no longer please thy taste perchance another’s charm hast caught thine eye wouldst thou leave me then in passion’s haste Am I no longer worthy of thy loving touch that boundless pleasure brought to such as me on countless nights neath bright moonlit skies thy breath a soothing warmth my skin desires Could thou then withold this precious gift so freely given when this love was young and wound this erstwhile lover to the quick nay, score his soul with fatal wounds Canst thou not see the pain in these eyes filled with the tears of a thousand nights a thousand deaths since thy farewell an empty void to terrible to embrace Return then to these loving arms my true love when thou hast had thy fill of passing pleasure for I await thee with patience strained by time and yet faithful to the memory of thy face the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

Ah, dear poet of thy words so tenderly wrought, mayest thou find the fullest of thine dreams come true and thy hearts own one love be returneth to thee with much haste and with a heart overflowing with love for thee. A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

Why does a love poem have so much more soul when written in Old English? Me thinks it is beautifully wrought. Joyce |

What a tender embellishment the old words can add, Pegasus.... and the way you've delicately crafted this one upholds the finest traditions! It's so-oo romantic! Lary |
