Dear Mother you're deserving of more
Than one short day out of any long year
To be remembered with love and honored
For filling my childhood with so much cheer.
You took the time out of your busy day
To attend to my needs with loving care.
You kissed my hurts away when I was young
And for grown-up troubles too, you were there.

When you were here with me, I brought flowers
To honor you Mama, each Mother's Day.
It's been twenty-eight years since your leaving,
But your strong love still surrounds me today.
I would like to bring you some chocolates,
Or a babble or trinket to show how I care.
Now all I have are the words in this poem
To honor you Mama, wish you were here.
