the summer sun rising to kiss the dawn of a new day,

Your smile is the beacon that guides my mind,
through the dangerous maze of life’s deception,

Your love shelters me from the pain of lonely nights,
it sings to me as a song on the wind from paradise,

Without you I am but a whisper of the man I could be,
a child lost in the unfathomable maze of murky dreams,

You are my resolve, my strength, the keeper of my soul,
because of you, compassion flows from a grateful heart,

Without you, there is no joy, no peace, no tomorrow,
only the darkness waiting for the return of your light.

What a lovely read for an almost spring morning. An elegant, graceful picture painted with vivid emotions—very well done.

I enjoyed the entire poem, but, to me, this verse seems to capture the very heart of the emotion you’re expressing.
