Joy abounds in the air Gray flannel days are done Blue returns to the heavens For Spring has just begun Buds popping through the soil Lift up their sleepy heads Stretch, reaching for the sky Refill the flower beds Dormant grass now turns green Thick, the verdant plush The robin sings her happy song To break the morning hush The trees, new leaves now adorn New buds burst into sight All join the celebration Leaving Winter's night 2-19-2002 [This message has been edited by Dennis L. This is a lovely, happy poem, Dennis. We've had some spring days and I have seen my first robins too. But February has a way of betraying us. Joyce |

I think, dear Brother, You show more here of Anticipation than actual Realization--That is unless I've pulled a RipVan Winkle, and the Global Warming thing is more far advanced than I previously thought. None the less, Your poetic Pictures of Spring are refreshing, and DO give much to be looking forward to. Thanks so much for sharing it with me, David Every Day's a Blessing |

Dennis: I like your springtime poem and I am looking for signs here, but they are pretty scarce right now. Your poem gives me hope it won't be long. Betty Lou Hebert |

Dennis~ I LOVE it ... of course I live in the land of 'almost' eternally Spring .... Robins on the lawn ... roses in bloom ... and trees putting on their Spring finery ... Ahhhhh, life is good~ *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Dennis; Ah, Hope does spring eternal! This is your poetry at it's best! The spring bulbs here in my garden are up an inch or so...but, if you read my fountain poem, we still have aways to go! Your poem today did bring a spring feeling to my heart and thanks for it! Hugs, Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

Dennis, Your poem brings light from the dark winter tunnel that envelopes us till all the beauty of nature comes back to us in a rebirth. We got a blast of summer here last week, which brought all the trees into bloom, and the ground flowers peeked up from their hibrination. This week seemed to give us a taste of winter again though. I loved you poem, thanks for sharing your talent here with us. |

I just love spring and summer. This definitely sings of that wonderful and warm time of year. Reminds of early in the morning when you hear the birds chirping outside the window. |
