Everyone knows that parents who brag about their children are bores. But grandparents with a grandchild like Hannah are free of all restraints and need not obey silly mores. Yesterday it was my turn to entertain my garden club. And so I proudly set her picture out and bragged a bit. My visitors were dully appreciative and oohed and ahhed over it. Of course everyone was in a hurry to show their own. I looked at theirs and smiled and praised, knowing full well that Hannah was the one who really shone. I studied the loving faces of my friends and saw that each felt the same. Each of us was playing that smug grandparent game. 01/09/02 [This message has been edited by Joyce Johnson (01-09-2002 08:40 PM).] |

I'm sure Hannah knows she's the highest on Grandma's list too! ![]() ![]() ~~Jamie ![]() ![]() "...Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." --Robert Frost |

this is wonderful Joyce. As usual you have captured a piece of life many overlook..I love your easy style the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

Thank you Pegasus 111. It's nice to have you back again. Betty you know I'm pretty silly over that little one. Love to both of you. Joyce |

How delightful are our grandchildren (I'm expecting my 6th in feb.) each one is a treasure! Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

Oh my, this sounds just like my mom. She has tons of pictures around her office of my nephew...Of course I am just the same way. I really liked your poem and plan to share it with my mom. |

They are beautiful Denise and you play the game wonderfully well. In your email I didn't know to whom I was talking. Now I find you and we're old friends. Joyce |
