Whist my love and long last, goodnight as I step from thine empty light. In an eternity we played, to shadow dance near the deep shade. When the flames of the fire dimmed low, thy heart stilled and slowed. Can’est thou not feel my timid caress, a ghost of longing across thy chest. Our memories are lost in dark cries, was I just a mote in thine eye. Thee stand’est immobile in armor, in thine heavy cloak called honor. Echoes of the night’s long dark sigh, as I kiss thy cruel lips, goodbye. -Wordancer, the poet who writes to the beat of a different drummer |

Thank you for your kind e-mail. It is a pleasure to read your poetry. This is poignant and sad, much of what I've experienced in the last twelve months, which I pray I never have to go through again. Kathleen-- |

exquisite closure to a lost love...E A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

This has a shakespearian flavor that makes it so enjoyable! Betty Lou Hebert |
