Vive le Difference!

A perfect maple leaf I found
All by itself upon the ground,
Though many others lay nearby.
I picked it up and wondered why
This one had drifted to the side.
Was carried on a windy tide.
I pondered then if it could be
That even in a maple tree,
Some leaves are different than the rest.
With something special have been blessed!
In shape or color, vein design.
A symmetry in serrate line
And so it is with people too,
In every group there are a few
Who stand out somehow and they shine!
They have a spirit rare and fine!

Thanks Songbird. It's a good thing I wrote this when I did. Today our maple tree is almost totally bare! The leaves are piled all over.
