With each day comes a new start at life,
I wake up with a smile on my face,
Thinking of all the good I could do today,
Then I realize that I’ve lost you again,

That smile of mine begins to fade,
Lost memories now re-emerge,
What made us turn on each other?
And filled us with so much rage,

The days we could not wait to call each other,
Ten times we talked before we said good night,
Now we counted the days we could resist,
Wait for the other to call and say they are sorry,

You wrote many cards filled with support,
Kept the fire going during the raging storm,
So many mementos now locked in a box,
Shipped in the mail and forever lost,

Now each day comes a new start at life,
One without wishes and hope,
For only fools believe that true love exist,
Each verse filled with everlasting remorse.
