A blossom fell beneath an azure sky Fluttering to the earth in silent swirls Too soon it withers in silent agony Sweet beauty lost in parched and rusty hues Wrinkled and frail it is but a memory Of unmatched splendor from a bygone day Shed not your tears for the precious petal lost Returned in death to nature’s waiting arms The run was brilliant and unmatched Instead rejoice in silent admiration For the life so nobly lived my friend And hope that yours will fare as well the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

This makes me think of the flowering cherry blossoms I so enjoy every year. They last such a short while, but such pink delight they bring, those drifting harbingers of spring. It will be soon now... ~ Karen ~ |

Peggers~ My heart reads this one again ... 'Wrinkled and frail it is but a memory Of unmatched splendor from a bygone day Shed not your tears for the precious petal lost Returned in death to nature’s waiting arms The run was brilliant and unmatched Instead rejoice in silent admiration For the life so nobly lived my friend And hope that yours will fare as well' ... for I have had a petal fall from my life and am trying to find that 'rejoicing' place right now~ Thank you ... thank you~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |
