Lost My Arm

I lost my arm before I realized I did.

I was at the end of my path.

I thought I would have finished me.

I asked for help; I knocked many times.

Yet I was invisble to you.

Invisible, you had chosen to be away from me.

The next day...

I ran and and sought; I wished and deceived.

I pondered and tried

To deceive myself once more.

At last, when I looked into the mirror,

I learnt that I was born with one arm.

What a haunting poem....and I do know that feeling, of having had a lack and only now (whenever now is), realizing how much it had cost me......
