Gone But Not Forgotten

The poet dies, but does not die
When he has left a line
Black inked up on enduring page
Or lingered on the mind.

With no thought than to see it grow,
The gardener plants a tree;
His immortality assured,
Shade for posterity.

We each must find unique approach
To prove that we were here;
No surer way than nurtured child
In whom our truths appear.

Wonderful poem and so true my dear friend. You always write with such simple and yet clever word mastering. Nicely penned as always,
Hugs and Happy New Year

Joyce~
EXACTLY !!!!

And long may the ink-of-time
remain within our rhyme
Seeping through hearts at play
when our poetry they see
someday on display~

Exactly how I feel when I write a poem.

It is beautiful.

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.
