You lie deep within
neither in my mind
nor my heart
but here,
in my very essence.
You are my caretaker,
my lover, my friend.
the guardian of my soul.
Profound emotions rise
like a swollen river ready to burst
whenever I feel you.
You waken the excitement in me,
the tingle of life,
intrigue of uncertainty.
Yet - You are much more --
You are a reminder of pain,
of bitter-sweet ache,
of joy, of love and mortality.
More precious than mere gold,
more beautiful than nature itself
you are the reason,
and my story,
A story that has just begun.
