Through the vacuum of space it came to her At first a whisper barely audible in the night It touched her in the darkness, lightly, soothingly The mood created was warm, tender, desirable The contact of wave to wave, sense to sense grew Flourishing in the fertile garden of the mind; ripening Thoughts undulated and entwined, caressing, exploring Opening, accepting, surrendering to the beauty unfolding The whisper grew to an insistent hum, vibrating with promise Offering the interlocking waves new hope for fulfillment The energy spiked to near fever pitch in the darkness Glowing with a radiance of surreal quality The overload struck with cruel precision, deep into the core Shattering the oneness into millions of scattered ions In the deathly silence the whisper faded, only the empty void remaining Consumed by the vacuum from whence it came, unfinished, Alone Destined to wander aimlessly in the nothingness the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |
