Somehow Somewhere in the aftermath A little dog survives; Small miracle of endurance Among the displaced lives. A little boy lies sleeping on An unfamiliar bed. He's dreaming of the puppy, Left behind and now feared dead. Rescued by a stranger, The dog is safe and sound, But he will not be whole again Until his master's found. Somewhere, someone hears the child And knows his desolation. Somewhere, someone pats the dog And feels his desperation. These strangers face the challenge To see if they can find The master or the small pet For which the other pined. Somewhere in the Heavens The angels have contrived To light the path between them, These two who have survived. Two parents thank two strangers As loved ones reunite. In a world with so much lost and wrong, There now is one small right. By: Joyce 9/11/05 |

Thanks Marge. Sometimes the smallest things are the most meaningful. So many good people working to help. Love, Joyce |

Joyce, This poem is so poignant and touching. As candle shining in the darkness, we're looking for and so desiring to hear good new from the Gulf that has been ravaged by destruction and has multiplied human despair. Thanks for sharing this uplifting narrative. Peace unto you, Dennis |

This brings me to someone dear. Somewhere, right now I mean, one of us is in Louisiana, having fled from Houston, but not north. Why risk the teeth of it? Because her father's there, and he needs her. Along with her will be an ancient cat she couldn't bear to leave behind, because she cares for mama kitty more than she does most humans. The poor thing may not live through the trip, but it's too frail be left alone. Thinking about you, Suthern....hoping you're ok tonight, and that all is well. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> ______________Ratleader______________ |

Dear Joyce: Such a touching poem and so true! There are such sad stories coming out of the south and once in awhile, a small miracle! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |
