Cease Fire?

Terminal illness rages, attacks
remission a fond, lovely memory
like childhoods best holiday.
Battle fierce, one more time
shooting from entrenchment
whose turn for a day of victory?

Perhaps another war story?
opposites meeting near amid
to share a holiday cease-fire?
Searching the eye of death
realizing the other tis a brother
with his own mission and desire?

When next the battle rages
shall either be as quick, easy
pulling trigger that carries end?
Will the order to destroy
be embraced with past vigor
position so important to defend?

Or perhaps the war be over
acceptance and surrender
at very least...understanding?
Has once upon terminal enemy
lost most of the abject terror
with simple shaking of hand?

i hope the war is over even tho we both know that there will be battles to overcome. I know that I shall always love you, now more than ever even when there is a skirmish that we have to get thru.

Can we cease fire now that the battle is over and was lost? I hope that your world is better now as I know in my knower that mine is. Soul bonds broken and time to move on.
