Bring Back Our World

This is not the world that I recall
The one I knew when I was small;
So safe and free.

Today I wakened to the pleas
Of people crying overseas.
Not safe at all.

Arising early in good cheer,
It's not the news I want to hear
On my birthday.

A bunny plays without a fear
As darting humming birds appear
To sip the flowers.

This the fascinating scene
I'm viewing through my window screen.
My peaceful hours.

And as I watch I send a prayer
For hurting people everywhere.
Take fear away.

Bring back those happy days of yore
Those peaceful days we knew before
Fear came to stay.

I couldn't agree more Joyce.
Yet another sad day..where and when and how will it all end?
I have many friends, as PiP has many writers
living in England.
I do hope they are safe and unharmed.

I often think of years gone by and how is used to be.
Life was so peaceful and we were so unafraid.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts..
on this your birthday.

Have a good day Joyce!
Hugs sweet lady.

Hi Joyce, Yes It is so terrible. I live in England as you know and also have a very close friend whom I love very much, who lives in London. I was terrified to see what was happening today and I at least got to know my friend was ok by telephone. He is a chauffer and is always driving around the heart of London so it was a real worry.
I am so upset by the death and maiming this terrible terrorist attack has brought to our lovely small country and I am asking for all your prayers for those who are right now hurting. When will this evil end?
Hugs and many many thanks for your thoughts and care today.

Joyce~
Like you, I am so saddened by the upsetting events in London~
It just gave me such horrible flashbacks to the day forever burned in my memory of the 9/11 attack on our homeland soil~

I am keeping prayer vigil for those in England ... and waiting to hear from some friends as well~

Heart rendered penning, poetess~
Happy Birthday, hon~

Dear Joyce:  A very thougtful and appropriate poem for today and the world as it is!  We are all so distraught by what has happened in England.  Saying prayers for the nation and the people.

Dear Joyce

Such a fitting poem indeed!  This sort of thing must have brought back memories of 9/11!

My prayers and thoughts are with the people of London.  The chilling thought I have now is.......WHO'S NEXT.......

Love Isobel xo

and so His enemy comes in the night to sow weeds among the good seeds. the servants will bundle the weeds at the harvest for burning and the wheat will be brought into His barn.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

A lovely tribute and wish for a better world on your special day.. and written so well.. the style is fantastic. I enjoyed this all around, and agree with the message whole-heartedly.
