Writer’s Block(This Too Shall Pass) Sometimes I have a very good time Reaching into the verse and the rhyme. But other times I get writer’s block It seems like my mind begins to lock Out all of the things that I want to say That rumble around in sawdust and hay. But then, again on most occasions I can look past those persuasions That my padlock my mind; stifle my view Because after a while, I start out anew. Now, take the adventures of Mavis the cow- She’s born in my head, but I don’t know how. I give her a purse and two pair of shoes, Put on her glasses and turn on the news. There she is-bright-eyed with smile Broadcasting events in her TV-like style. “A gallon of milk is up fifty-cents, It’s the same price as gas and that presents A dilemma for people who hear the news- Buy gas or a cow-what shall they choose?” Mavis looks out and gives us a wink. She picks up her glass and takes a drink, Goes out to her car filled up with gas And holds up the milk that’s left in the glass. |

No writer's block here Sweetie. I love Mavis. More power to her. Mavis drives her old Ford everywhere Without a worry or a care. She dresses in the finest silk For gas is half the price of milk. Love, Joyce |

Dear Barb; I love poems like this! It just feels good to write silly stuff sometimes and get it out of your system! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |
