The room was dark in the night Hurricane lamps now were lit As I was gazing into the light I saw wheels of progress as I sit While the lamp and computer set The lamp's fire was shining bright Progress and History silently met My eyes beheld an awesome sight While I was sitting in the night My life's history passed in between The shadows of the flickering light An amazing sight to be seen As a child at the home of grandmother The Hurricane lamp was at glow Computers merged years on further And wheels of progress continue to flow By: Brenda Hall "thepassionatepoet" |

Yes, I agree. The changes have happened so fast as to merge into one. Joyce |

Dear Brenda: I enjoyed your poem and can appreciate the thoughts that must have gone through your mind, while waiting out the hurricane! Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |
