We've said goodby to August, no long days at the beach. No camping out and picnics, all gone beyond our reach. It's now school books and busses, and little time for play. Summer is happy memories, fall has come to stay. June was just a while ago, and then came warm July. Now August and vacation time has swiftly slipped on by. Why do the lovely days of summer seem to hurry on their way; While winter wearing its welcome fast, will stay and stay and stay? It's always those we love the most, who visit and then are gone, While the boring folks we hope will leave, stay on and on and on. By Joyce 9/07/01 |

Joyce: Enjoyed your poem and I feel the same way. Winter is beautiful in many ways but the icy roads and cold, I could sure do without! Betty Lou Hebert |

Joyce~ LOL ! 'It's always those we love the most, who visit and then are gone, While the boring folks we hope will leave, stay on and on and on.' Isn't that the truth ????? Delightful~ ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

They say that "fish and company stink after three days"! lol...wonderful whimsy! A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
