~Cancion de Amor~
A Spanish Poem with an English Translation

Si me preguntas cuanto te quiero,
te muestro el cielo con todo su splendor.
Si me preguntas cuanto te necesito,
te muestro mi corazon ardiente.
Tu voz es la musica para mis oidos,
como un pajaro cantando en la noche.
Tus ojos lusen como diamantes brillantes,
Y se que es verdad que tu me amas.
Quiero tenerte en mi vida para siempre,
este amor tan fuerte que siento por ti.
Que cuando duermo entras mis suenos
Y todo parece realidad.

If you ask how much I love you,
I'll show you the sky in all its splendor.
If you ask how much I need you,
I'll show you my burning heart.
Your voice is music to my ears
like a bird singing in the night.
Your eyes sparkle like brilliant diamonds,
and I know it's true that you love me.
I want you in my life for always
this love so strong I feel for you.

this is a truly wonderful love poem. I am afraid I only can read the english but ohhhhh so beautiful. Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you June and Joyce! I have never written a poem in Spanish, and thought to try something different. The translation gets sort of lost from Spanish to English, but for someone who reads Spanish, it sounds quite beautiful.

Beautiful poem! I don't read Spanish, but I think it's wonderful to take the challenge of translating it into both languages. Good for you. Great job!
