The mirror stands in front of her and she despises her own reflection, can't help but notice her imperfections. Turn once, turn twice, full of curves, dandruff like lice. Clothes are wrinkled, head hung low, tortured heart, battered soul. Enough spots to play connect the dots, short term memory, she forgot. She stands behind the mirror, and even though she despises her reflection, she admires her imperfections. "I'm just me, trapped in a body." |

Dear Peaceful, How sad! Many people see only the imperfections on the outside, yet fail to see the inward beauty of their hearts. One of my sons went through puberty feeling the same way. He now knows that beauty comes from within. Thank you for sharing this poem! Love, Patricia 'When you find a dream within your heart, don't ever let it go. |

At first I was struck by how she sees her imperfections... then admires them. I was thinking she was seeing bad things... then to have her admire them at the end was great I love it. BWA |
