Goodbye

who would ever have thought
that I would know
the feeling that comes
when it is time to go.
somewhere way down
so deep inside
the tears well up
waiting to be cried
wanting so much
to be able to stay
knowing in my heart
the price I would have to pay
no one is right
no one is wrong
it just wasn't time
to write the song
of love so good
it hurts to breathe
of pain so bad
it makes you bleed
with hearts broken
beyond repair
tender moments
shattered with despair
there comes a time
we have to see
that this just
was not meant to be
so go your way
I'll go mine
trust me now
it will be fine
maybe yes
and maybe no
the next time round
no one will have to go...

Although "good-byes" can be painful, there are other good things waiting to be discovered. I really enjoyed your poem!
