This was inspired by Beasley's "Goin Fishin" Worm Wisdom I am a worm, but very small. I wouldn't be much help at all At being caught and used for bait. The very thought of it, I hate! Now, people view me with a sneer. But that's okay, I like it here And when I'm quickly tossed aside, I find a place where I can hide! The flower beds are best, I've found. There's seldom anyone around, Except for spring and autumn too, When folks have things they want to do. So, I lead quite a peaceful life. Someday, perhaps, I'll have a wife. Our offspring will be tiny too. I'll find enough for them to do, They'll never try to venture out When men with shovels are about! Betty Lou Hebert |
