the tune my morning coffee was sweetened by the hums of an old tune not heard or thought of in years curious how it came quite sudden quite softly buzzing so warmly from behind the news in the afternoon heat while sipping a tea i found this old tune still locked in my soul why now does it come? to take me? to taunt me? or maybe just spend a day as a friend? tonight drinking scotch in the ice i saw rainbows swirling in time with an old ceiling fan the tune still held fast as i stumbled towards cover wondering if sleep would bring her back? |

I understand this. There are times, old tunes won't go away. Joyce |

what a beautifully written poem. I love the language of memories you played through this one. I find your poem so very readable. A story in such a small poem. wow !! great. Hugs from June x |

Mike, This is so well done. Wonderfully expressed. I love the theme and the tune thing I believe has happened to most of us so we can all relate. But your ending - that it related to lost love- was a surprise for me - I wasn't expecting that to be the ending. Most melodies that come from nowhere to me and bother me all day are just an annoyance but the lost love idea was terrific and like a said - a surprise, a nice surprise. Thanks for the read. Panne |

Very well expressed, Mike! I'm sorry I missed this before, but glad I didn't miss it this time! |
