The Warrior Moon The moon did not just rise tonight, She sprang into the air alight! To hide behind some clouds that were Acting as a shield for her. Sometimes, her round face would appear And she would throw a golden spear, Downward at the earth below. There'd be a momentary glow And she'd be gone again to bide, Illuminating clouds inside. She prowled this way all through the night. A brooding and a haunting sight. She's usually so calm, serene, But now another side we've seen, As though she was a warrior queen! Betty Lou Hebert |
