(AN: On Easter weekend I had my first ever experience going out with a woman one on one. I wouldn't call it a date though...FYI it isn't the same girl from my other poems.) Yellow Rose A yellow blossom for three years of friendship. To be given before out in town we take a trip. I know you'll recover from losing you first love. I've prayed for you to our God up above. He never really loved you, you once said. Let insecurity not hang over your head. You've been a friend to me for several years. One of few I've had among my peers. So this single gift of spring just for you. For a friend with a heart sure and true. A friendship I'll always be sure to treasure. For month and year, through pain and pleasure. |
