Soul's Anguish

Soul's weeping hole so deep
Obscured by shadows and nowhere to be found,
My son, he is now gone.
Now as memories slowly fade,
of pain and suffering so great.
And yet still I yearn for my child
this ache so profound.

Is there anyone who remembers
His joy and his laughter?
A child innocent, full of life,
Torn from his mother's arms
Hurled into the unknown.

Be still my soul, and weep no longer.
Remember not the agony, 'twas foretold.
Even as arms reach out, to embrace,
He is now gone forever.

Yet this yearning continues,
and to wait is agony.
But one day we shall be together,
In God's heavenly abode.

Still --- Soul's weeping hole.

I want to thank all you wonderful people for responding to my poem. For most of you, I sent an email with my thanks. A couple of you had no email address listed.

Your reponses meant a great deal to me, since this is the first time I have ever written my own poem. I am so happy to be a part of your Poetry Forum.

Blessings and love,
Patricia

The seperation of mother and child is an unbearable longing that nothing can fill. Not forever lost is the hope of one day once again being forever together.
You expressed the feelings well.

Dear Destiny,
Thank you for your heartfelt response. I no of no other pain worse than losing one's own child. On May 20th,is the anniversary of my son's passing eight years ago. It has taken me this many years to finally write about my feelings. I wish I could comfort every parent who is struggling with their loss now.

Hello,Patricia.Firstly,I would just like to welcome you to this special place called, Passions.Secondly,I almost don't know what to say to you.I am so sorry you lost your son.I have lost many loved ones in my life, but I am sure that losing your child is a pain that is different and deep.I pray for you support and unexpected gifts of beauty to lighten your heart.I know for a fact that although you have lost sight of his face, you have not really lost him completely. He still lives...in many ways.My thoughts and prayers are with you.
