The Featherless Five ~*Marge Tindal*~ Patiently sits Mommy Wren gazing steadily out at me Then she flew because she knew there was more I wanted to see~ Sure enough … there in the nest The Featherless Five now hatched I snapped the lens as quickly as I could then Mommy Wren came back~ Now I’ll wait a day or two photographing them after they dress In their Easter-feathered finery they will look their very best~ ~Oh friends, pardon me while I get all excited !~ I LOVE this nature moment ... just LOVE it ! *Remember ... the beginning ? /pip/Forum39/HTML/003021.html ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Oh the wonderful instinct of the little wren to find her safe home near you. Aren't they precious and don't they come fast? Love, Joyce |

Thanks gals~ I found some interesting information on this particular Wren which is the Carolina Wren - here is a link to the page for those of you interested~ http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/BODY_UW184 And interetingly enough the incubation period is a mere 12-14 days. COOL ! I will continue watching our little ones and update you all as to their feathery progress~ I actually stand near the nest and 'talk' and 'sing' to Mother Wren ... she seems very, very calm about the whole thing~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Dear Marge: An encounter such as you are having with the wren is so charming. Now you can watch each feather pop out on these fledglings! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |
