If thou dearest love not me;
who doth thou heart belong?
For if thou doth hear thy plea,
and not return answer does but wrong.

For in a world of such a dream,
as one for not to be loved;
thy heart does hold in low esteem,
and hope thy falseness proved!

And to the unloving night,
why dost thou wrong thee?
That it graces before thy sight,
but fails to in thee see!

Oh! What more to the night but this,
that thy love doth mislead-
by the falseness of sweet tender kiss,
that pricks thine heart to bleed!

Oh! If there must be such injustice,
than my heart shall love no more.
For in such sorrow love doth reminisce,
and thy heart ceases to adore!
