Etched in the illusion of time

0 posted 2004-02-29 06:28 PM

The scents in the room are hypnotic, distinctive. Be it a penumbral purgatory,
it deepens, lest anyone muse upon a secret desire like she.
Lest anyone muse, does soundlessness
echo and desperation becomes poignantly inert, suspension on a single
string held delicately overhead her uplifted trance of a hollow prayer.
Blues within the other blend a perfectly melodic black, a shadow of
question arises 'tween the enigma of her eyes.
Has anyone tasted tragedy quite like this before, without tongue, nor
fingers touching, entwined ache, grazing apparitions sweetly dancing
across her unsketchable world?
She is denied entrance to Elysium, and feels its calling,
evermore.

Bitterly, she weaves a prison from shards of the hunger
that sates her mind and body.
Insomnia lends her a futile lullaby, as morning swells
o'er and o'er and o'er
the plexiglass valley, descent.
Look to the horizon, detachment insignificant thoughts
splayed on oakwood table,
lit by Aurora's disconsolate pinks and crimsonality
removed.

Her skin remembers what it was to sense aberration, not
savor it from sips of coffee, spoon-fed liquid measures,
unable to resist itself.

Once, ago, there existed a name for her. Ears defined
relished in its euphony, dissonance. Memories bring her
to her knees in frailty, grasping silently for everything
she has lost. Abyss of nostalgia, rendered ambrosial for the longing,
unquenchedly parched reality she cradles deep within dewdrops
of French Vanilla iniquity.
Oh, nightless, dayful, splendid vagary! were you but a whisper
in the hourglass of her sighs..

She loves his coffee the second time a thirst settles into the
grooves of her veins, unsettled silver nicotine she has never
come to know, only through silhouette
too lightly alive, too heavily within.

Recollections of what never was, bringing stirrer to her lips,
granting amenity to meringue foam, for sinning
an unmentionable thing, among her own doing, and she traces
salty magarita lines 'round the rim of her cup.
Artfully, she eyes the fading warmth, holding instrument of
deviation weightlessly betwixt slender fingers, vaguely contemplative.
Dipping its edge into milky watercolors, painting portraits of reminiscence
vis-à-vis cappuccino,
she was beginning to learn how outying felt, and what it was
to truly be alone.

If I were to touch you, would you bleed a velvet river, running miracles through the sodden ground? --Moi

Indigo I can only say wow, this is truly spectacular writing, you may not have experience but what you have in spades is talent. I’m awed, truly awed by the way you write. These days I’m not in here enough to read very much, and I tend to only come in, read a little in the archives and go, but your writing is so amazing that I promise I’ll try to read you more often.

Outstanding writing and a wonderful gift to the reader, thank you for the gifting of you.
Love and warm stuff

(smiles) I'd have to intensely disagree with your constructive critique message, in fact, to some extent, you may be more experienced with poetry than many of us! (big angel hugs) This is wonderful, I love it, I too have faith you'll be well-known in the not-so-distant future, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Incredibly poetry! You are gifted beyond measure....WOW!  Ellie
