To a Despondent Friend

Of all the treasures one can own,
The greatest of these is love.
You're loved by me and many more
And by your God above.

Sometimes we must turn from ourselves
To fully understand
The loveliness surounding us
As bounty from His hand.

Take heart my friend, you are needed
On this earth God has made;
Whether a sunflower in the sun
Or violet in the shade.

Each and everything has a place
In greater scheme of things;
The mole burrowing under ground
Or eagle with his wings.

God loves you and is well aware,
He knows how deep your pain.
No matter how long the journey,
The road will turn again.

One day lasts twenty-four hours
And not one minute more.
Your ship is sailing with the tide
And soon you'll sight the shore.

The storms of sea will be behind
Despairs and fears all done.
Take heart my friend, we're here until
Your new day has begun.

Joyce,
I hope this helps your friend.  It has to be wonderful to have a friend as understanding and as sweet as you are.
This is another of your terrific poems.
Love and God bless,
Barb

Thank you dear friends.  I have lost two dear ones to suicide in my lifetime.  I have always thought if I could only have been there with the right word of encouragement at the time.  This poem was for all who despair.  Another day may make all the difference.  Hang in there. Love, Joyce

I thought your poem was very inspirational. Also touching to write something so wonderful for a friend. Poetry that is this well done, simply flows. From the first line on I was drawn in and I read this twice and each time it was more heavenly. Kie

Dear Joyce; you are a gift! This inspired me so much as I am just recently divorced and now all is bright again as God has healed the pain...Hugs, Ellie

(big angel hugs) Awwwwwwww, this is such a beautiful heart hug prayer for your dear friend, sweet friend, I believe we always must keep giving and sharing our love everyday openly as that is the remedy, harmony, as harmony can make all the despondent and faithfully detached happy and strong again, God Bless You always, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joyce, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
