I’ve seemed to forget this gift Getting caught up in the remnants of what I was I forget to teach myself why it exactly was I went adrift Knowing not what to think I’ve felt in shadow and in vulgar pain But not knowing has led me to more So now free from what you are, I’ve kept myself all the same My eyes speak not of lies, and my dreams show more than plan faces I now know more than ever that what I do is what is right For tomorrow comes sooner than yesterday and tonight fades without a fright My gift, forgiveness for my past, regret is not something that goes away to fast But tomorrow I know, I know that I can be happy with the light ahead Guiding me is thoughts of pure delight; I can’t say how long it will last Knowing this, tells me I must do it right I’m not going to hurt myself anymore Never more bringing all around me through that same door So I say to you be my guiding light Be that person who isn’t blind to their own sight Tell me all the things I haven’t heard before So I say lets think today like no other Mark our own words and defy the other The music of life has been cranked up loud And I’ve found I don’t want to turn it down It’s marked my life and made me smile And it only gets better all the while So I say in tune I’ll be with the music of my life Seldom would one understand what it is that’s playing So just come and take a stance, and see my glee I’d have to say it’s where I want it to be All that’s left is for this to be, a dance, a chance let us see |
