(AN: Shakespeare's quote kinda inspired this one. A very special lady inspired me to write this one...though we never dated.) "A Rose By Any Other Name..." A rose, by any other name, still is a rose. So too a good friend, I more than just suppose. That good friend is definitely you. One whom my feelings for are true. Though you've got someone that you regularly see. Happy and loved is all I want you to feel. Even if the person that does this isn't me. I'll understand if friendship with me loses appeal. You may wonder why I haven't revealed my feelings. I've had bad luck with romantic dealings. I feared if I pushed my luck too far. The loss would feel like being hit by a car. I fear you'll turn away, leaving me forsaken. Our friendship over time, to me, felt to grow. I hope by all that's Holy I wasn't mistaken. My fault for acting too slow. Many a moment to me readily springs to mind. You made sure I'd never sit alone, how kind. I felt that I had a chance just then. If only I could say in words what I can say by pen. So you don't think this comes from left field. I'm remembering many afternoons over hot coffee. Four months later new feelings were revealed. Over similar circumstances, just as carefree. We ran into each other, waiting for our flights. We sat at a table under dimmed electrical lights. The book I'd bought to pass the time put aside. For this lighthearted exchange, before a long ride. It was when I boarded my own flight. My feelings changed on their own accord. Before my flight cleared the deck, my heart alight. I saw you as someone special, as I climbed aboard. A rose by any other name, still a rose.  (sigh) Sometime you just have to press your luck and let yourself get run over by love, for one is bound to stop that gravy train and pick your bruised heart and take good care of you as serendipity is real!
