There's one less hornet alive on the earth today
Why is this you say?
Well here's how the story unfolds

Sweet little hummingbirds
Were having a nice day
Content to play
Tagging each other as they took
Turns drinking
Of sugar flavored water
Suspended from the porch
By a kind hearted man
Who loved to watch
Hummingbird antics

The hummers were content
To fly dart back and forth
From the cedar trees
To the porch
For mid air drinks
Changing stations
As if playing
Musical chairs
Ignoring an occasional wasp
That might
Wander there

But today an invader came
He didn't want to share
He was "taking over"
Staking his claim
Declaring the nectar was his
And his alone

With a bull headed buzz
He gave each hummingbird a shove
Claiming his victory
As hummingbirds cowered
Sitting in the trees
Watching as
The bully
Partook of the sweet drink
They loved
They must have been praying
For the victory was still to be their's

For as they watched
A gentleman with a big broom
Landed the big "Baboon"
On the ground with a thud
And that was the end of the "Bug"

"Praise the Lord!"

And so all bullys shoud come to such a bad end. Very cute. But I hae seen my sweet little humming birds chase each other away. Joyce

This is a familiar sight at our feeders, but as Joyce mentioned, these hummers like to chase each other away too! Some of them are quite aggressive!

Hornets deserve swatting.I have never been stung by a humming bird.Good for you.

I agree with Paladin, I've been stung by hornets and they deserve all the smashin' and bashin' they get!
