But So Am I

Something inside me died
and I'm glad that it did
I don't know what it is
I just don't know
I don't know what it is?

I'm glad it's gone it's not there
Something that I was, something unknown.
It's not easy, and then again it is
I don't know what it was
but it feels like I have grown

Saying goodbye to that old thing
that thing that I didn't see
I'm glad it's gone
I'm gladder now to just be me.

Sorting through all the questions
of what it meant to me
The thing that put me in messes
What was it meant to be?

Still in a fog as to why
and what it was
and was meant to be to me
Maybe a clearer me to see.

In it's wake I found
I had hurt some
My thinking wasn't sound
For better things they are bound

But so am I.
On to better tries.
