Contemplation When I'm alone, I feel the peace. Tensions slowly seek release. Into the quiet of the day, My cares take wing and fly away. I hear the sounds so often hid Beneath the noise we live amid. I listen to the steady talk Of our faithful mantel clock. The snoring of our family dog, Who lies here like a chocolate log. Serenity invades my bones And speaks to me in dulcet tones. My mind is free. I have some time To contemplate the world of rhyme!
