Shining faces head toward the setting sun,
A spark of hope burns deep inside.
And as the majestic evening fills the sky,
Our hearts lift up with pride.

Our goal gets closer with every step,
A stride for all our dreams.
Against a darkened night,
We shine in gentle gleams.

Help us in our mission,
Aid us in our goal
Fight with us to find a cure,
Together as a whole.

Walk with us and shine with strength,
And push away all fear.
Light the night with greatest joy,
Find life in simple cheer.

I'll be taking part in the Light the Night walk today. Starting at five, we'll walk around the neighborhood with illuminated balloons. The walk will raise funds to help find a cure for cancer such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodglin's diseas and myeloma.

Very nice to read. I enjoyed this, and then to find out it's for a cause....that's such a good thing!!! I hope the turn out is very good, and the goal is met you are trying to achieve. This will help give people a better quality of life!!!

Thanks everyone for the enouragement. I haven't been able to go online for a while since my Key Club division is already working on new projects to help the community. Right now we're rasing money for Camp Better Days [for kids who lost a family member in the 9-11 attacks] and for the baby lion cub that was dumped in the streets by a new York Post reporter. I don't thinks I've ever done so many community projects, but it's a very rewarding feeling.
