Re-borne

My heart is melting,
as feeling her words
i fall into empathy.
Her eyes filled
overflowing with sadness
bunny ruined on the road.

Last straw to madness
vicious world crashing
why is the end so final?
Shelled again, secure
ugliness can't penetrate
safe behind tissue walls.

Ending comes creeping
with vile, silver tongue
and imaginary promises.
Epiphany constructed
worth less than natural
easier just to go along.

Hard won is the battle
shower, dishes and dress
an earned celebration.
We're alive; hallelujah!
day innocently borne
sweetness begins anew.
