It’s amazing what lack of sleep does to your mind Colors look brighter Sounds are sharper The whole worlds seems alive I can’t tell you what time it is But it feels like I’m dead I’m light headed Dim witted The suns in the sky The night died into the morning I should be in bed But the voices in my head Wont let me fall asleep I’m getting kind of weak From this miserable lack of sleep They can give you some pills Enough for the week Sleep comes to some Or maybe none But for me it’s elusive A real sly recluse’s Sleepless night Alone in my bed Not alone in my head So I’ll lay here awake Till the sun wakes the sky With orange amber lights Slaying the night And announcing the day *Note* I didn't post this in Dark poetry because well there's not much dark about it...so I thought here maybe. If not one of the Mod's if, they'd be so kind could move it to the proper place. X_X It's not my best work mainly because it was written in the wee hours of the morning.* |

Good description of what it's like to not be able to sleep. I hate it when that happens. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Joyce |
