Spirit of the Willow

Listen to the spirit of the willow.
For every day she sings of something new,
Telling us the stories from her heartland
And all the spirits she's related to.

Listen to the swaying of her branches.
Take shelter underneath her trembling leaves.
Be aware of many voices calling,
Speaking of the creeds that she believes.

How her grace and beauty bless the morning
And her gentle whispers, soothe the night.
Leaves she drops are veined with understanding
And seeing her is such a lovely sight!

Of all the trees, she's the one I go to
Whenever daily troubles get me down.
Beneath her canopy, calmness claims me
And soon I find my smile and lose my frown!

A lovely poem Betty.  I have a spreading oak in my yard that I adore.  Joyce

BettyLou~

This is as graceful and elegant as the beauty of the Willow itself~

Hi Joyce:  Oak trees are beautiful too! Some trees seem to have a presence all their own.  Thanks for commenting.

the willow weeps transparant tears for those who fail to pause and share in the wonder of nature's beauty. Nicely done gentle heart...

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

pegasus111:  Thank you for your lovely words! The weeping willow does seem to have a quality none of the other trees do.
