To soar amid wisps of clouds almost nudging a rainbow. To descend a winding mountain road, catching a glimpse of Nidri Harbour, silvery in the afternoon heat A small flotilla decked in brightly coloured rigging. To set sail into Teardrop Bay, stare gobsmacked as dolphins burst through the waves, phantom like as the glistening sun catches the arc of sleak bodies plunging back to the deep leaving barely a ripple To watch in despair the fury of nature as she takes her revenge. Crashing, boiling waves, screeching winds, pay scant attention to the plunderers of the deep who may never reach shore. Shaking the earth, felling trees, dismantling all around her, venting her anger at our wanton destruction of her very core, Gradually cooling her tempestuous frenzy, displaying, as would a peacock, all her finest bounties, tugging our conscience. |

Maggie: A really impressive poem and with graphic images! I love the sea, as well as mountains and this is a great mix of both. Betty Lou Hebert |
