Our Garden Forgive me Lord for calling this little patch MY garden; for not acknowledging your part I sincerely beg your pardon. I planted seeds and hoed a bit I watched it grow and admired it, forgetting that you helped me from the start. You sent the rain in right amount; more sunny days than I can count and all the elements the garden needed. Your share in this small garden went unheeded. I took your gifts as if my due, I did not think to credit you. I called it mine because I was the one who seeded. But now the rain has not been sent. The garden browned, the flowers spent. Long gone is memory of spring's bright splendor. The sun is pitless and hot The life is gone from this small plot. The plants send up burned branches in surrender. No touch of mine can make it thrive. You made this garden come alive. I ask you to relieve its pain and make it flourish once again. It is in need of Your rain to survive. You are the Master Gardener who Is only one can pull it through. It waits now for your rain clouds to arrive. By:Joyce 7/29/03 [This message has been edited by Joyce Johnson (07-29-2003 09:25 PM).] |

I started crying when I read this. It's as if someone finally understood how I feel. That *GOD* gives life, and that abundantly even when we don't know what we need. He is there to watch your garden, or if not it's to do just what he did for you..show you we *do* need him. What a blessing this was. WOW. Thanks for sharing this. Tears came to my eyes.. You just don't know how wmuch I needed to read this right about now. Loved it!!!!!! wonderful write!!!! Freed my spirit!! ![]() Thanks, SharaRose @-->-- Of sound, and speech let all lift the hearer! |

Thank you SharaRose. Perhaps that is why I felt impelled to write it. God and his wondrous ways. Love, Joyce |

Joyce, this lovely piece is but a reflection of your beautiful soul. though the garden may be wilted now, his creation of you shines like a beacon for us to follow. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

Joyce: A beautiful poem and I know just how you feel. The heat has been so intense this July, the poor plants just can't cope, even with all the watering we do. Betty Lou Hebert |
