Dimmed by passing time and circumstance like faded footprints in the shifting sand those memories of love once closely prized are now but traces from a faceless past they linger in dark corners of the mind these slender threads long disconnected from the mainstream of conscious thought and surface only in the dark of night winking dimly like a distant star as through a cloudy glass and darkly just beyond the sight of rational but never really lost beyond recall though badly worn and tattered now mere flitting ghosts of pale illusion they haunt the sences endlessly with traces lost in yesterday the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

"and surface only in the dark of night" Just a distant memory is how this sounds. It's said it takes a lifetime to forget. SharaRose @-->-- Of sound, and speech let all lift the hearer! |

Truly amazing poem...I particularly liked the last stanza. You are very talented. I will be hunting for more of your work! ~J.Lynn "In life you must dance like no one is watching, sing like no one is listening and love like it's never going to hurt..." |

Dear Friend, They are never quite lost, and it must have served a purpose in your life. Your memory has not let go. Love, to you. Joyce |

On the surface this is an amazing poem, but I'll have to come back and read again to grasp all the layers. Dawn |
