I remember a time, Long in the past, Bounced me on his knee, Seemed huge and vast, To a little boy, He was all that could be, He was my Grancha, And that boy was me. He sang me sad songs, Happy songs, funny songs too, Summers for me, Make me remember him too, He picked me up, Stopped me feeling blue, I thought he was a rock, And would never ever crumble, Little did I know, That life makes us all humble. I still can't forget, Having to watch him die, A man so vital, Lieing there where I could not go, I could not reach him, And still can't now, I know I have disappointed him, Wherever he is he knows why. As I read your words, They made me think, Whatever is left, Of the boy I used to be, I owe all to him, He made me feel free, Now I am shackled, By all times gone by, As I remember him sitting here, All I can do is cry. |

Shackles can always be unlocked.... It's a very good poem, and I'm glad you posted it. Equally glad my words made you think... Granted, I'm sure some of them weren't things you wanted to spend the night contemplating, but such is life Looking forward to more and more and more ![]() Always, BWA I awake to a world I don't want. There is no transition for me. I am in heaven. I am in hell. |

P.S. I'm sure he's not disappointed, least not over the things you think. It's suprising what our loved ones really feel when they get around to sharing their feelings. I'm sure your Grandpa is quite proud and still watching over you. ~~~~ As a side note, ![]() Always, BWA I awake to a world I don't want. There is no transition for me. I am in heaven. Little did I know, That life makes us all humble. So true. But you know what, you are such a sensitve person. We've all made mistakes in life and I really don't think you would be a disappointment to him in the least. I think he would be proud that you turned out to be such a kind heart. Nice. So lord I see you grinnin' must be grand always winning....AIC |
