Years ago our fingers flew Across the keyboard creating a story In a place where nothing was as it seemed Our names were blessed with glory Friendship started and blossomed I became a part of you And you, a part of me Together, our minds worked wonders E-mails, letters, phone calls All building towards one day A trip, to make our hugs real Warm arms, tender embrace Two years ago, counting back The dreams started coming A car racing down the road Wheels pealing on pavement The inevitable crash... Re-occurring nightmares, I said Each night waking in a cold sweat Not knowing it was glimpses Of something far worse It was your mom who called Long distance, phone breaking up To say that light had forever gone out A candle burning no more Driving home from work to fast To catch my phone call, You spun out of control around a corner Into a tree, dead upon impact I died too, that day, but didn't know Not until later, now I'm still remembering Glimpses from a void I fell into Not myself, not without you.. Wandering now..wondering.. ~Who am I?~ I awake to a world I don't want. There is no transition for me. I am in heaven. I am in hell. |
