Private Smile

When you ask me
Who would I like to have tea with,
My head turns sideways.
Privately I want to smile.

Sometimes there are people whom I admire,
Who I sometimes think could be a good partner.
Yet when I think of communication,
Sometimes I think I need to grow more.

Sometimes there are people whom I would rather be with,
Yet sometimes I think of possibilities.
Yet sometimes I think of compatibility.
Sometimes I think I dream too much.

When a ride comes by, should I accept it?
Should I begin a relationship that I feel I could never give enough to?
Would love come just as easily as ladybugs fly?
Or would love be but a process of acceptance?

Is love a feeling?
Or Love, is but being there for another?
How can I make my line clear
That sometimes I just love to do things with you?

Yet nothing, nothing from my heart says love is here.

I LOVE this poem. I think i've asked myself all those questions about love and emotions a hundred times, but can never get a satisfactory answer from myself. I think this may be one of my new favorite poems. i'd love to see more from you. you write extremely well.

I believe that love is building layers of caring...this could pertain to loving family members or to finding a true love...james
