Holly's Surprise

They're coming in doubles, two babies at once;
I'm shouting and doing headstands.
It's not happened before, though I wanted it to,
With my chidren, grandchildren, great-grands.
What a wonderful way to come into the world,
With a life-long, beloved best friend.
They'll have one another, no matter how tough
The road as it lengthens and bends.
They're one of each kind, this marvelous pair.
We'll buy pink and blue, willy-nilly.
Their mother, their aunties, their grandmas and I,
Are addled and perfectly silly.
If they have been named, I haven't been told,
Even though I'm their only great-gramma.
I'll keep you informed, just as soon as I know,
Since my sweet Holly Dolly's their mamma.
