On the Horizon of the past, the Dawn of Truth awoke, a blaze of crimson clarity. This I now know to be true... When the black nights of Fear, cloaked my heart in terror.. When dreams were shattered, like cold icicles dropping on frozen winter snows... There was always a choice. To flee the bitter winds and cave into utter despair, so travel the road of selfish abandon under the delusion of entitlement. Yet God's Grace did not fail me. His Grace blew my little sails on a sure and steady course. So that every mighty storm that tossed and tore my heart, could not keep me.. from His Will to travel on, with Love ever my compass true. So, I have found... A great treasure within. A certain pride in myself, that I have traveled this course, head held high, covered in scars and heartfelt wounds. Yet all the more humble, and blessed beyond measure. For this day I am my own true self and it is good. A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

'A great treasure within. A certain pride in myself, that I have traveled this course, head held high, covered in scars and heartfelt wounds. Yet all the more humble, and blessed beyond measure. For this day I am my own true self and it is good.' A wonderful piece of writing ellie and the ending is exceptional. Something we all strive for in our lifetimes. Dear Ellie, Though I have been off in the distance and not there for you, as I should have been, I am glad as evidenced by this most superb writting(in context, spirit and style), that though your trials have been so painful, they have been in truth, growing pains in Grace, with a heaping Helping of Humility. You did NOT glut your self at the Bowl of Bitterness, nor stuff yourself with the Salad of Self-Pity. But instead you Dined at the Master's Table and were made all the stronger for it. Praise God for His Marvelous Workings, to once again, as at the Beginning, to make His Light to shine out of the Darkness! (Thanks for sending me the beautiful card featuring this very powerful poetic verse.) david |
