Life's a Circus

There's something 'bout that circus clown
Whose big red nose and painted frown
Can cause the children to come down
And call his first name, "Mister."

There's something 'bout that dancing bear
Who rides his bike with such a flair --
"I know he's human. Yes, I swear
I saw him kiss my sister!!!"

There's something 'bout that high trapeze
That makes you want to hold your knees
And watch her juggle on the breeze
Like twigs caught in a twister.

There's something 'bout that prancing mare
Whose hooves will flow right through the air.
Before you know it, she's not there???
“She's gone and you have missed her!!!”

There's something 'bout that bearded one
Who makes hygiene seem so much fun.
She'll wink at you and make you run --
"Thank God I had a blister!!!"

...Or else I might have kissed her.

There's something 'bout that circus clown;
There's something 'bout that dancing bear;
There's something 'bout that high trapeze;
There's something 'bout that prancing mare;
There's something 'bout that bearded one;
There's something 'bout them I declare;
"Though Life's a Circus, I Don't Care!!!"

What a delightful, light-hearted piece~

Gave me a REAL smile of remember, as the circus used to set up just across the way from our home.
We had only to run across the field to join in the fun~

DELIGHTFUL ...

And .... some days life is such a circus that I feel I'm performing 'center-ring'~

Dear Bob, This is a wonderful piece from your pen. Delightful to read something so cheerful this early morning. It should be in a children's book. It would make a children's book with bright pictures. Love, Joyce

Bob: This is such fun and I love going to the circus. I have always been a big fan and I still go when it comes to town. This is a great write!

Goodness this takes me back...I've lost count of how many circus' I've seen and been to..so many that I've had it up to my ears with em that I can't even take my son to see them... my husband does that
